34For the last two years I have been developing an exciting new interest-jewelry silversmithing.  The thing that interested me was not traditional beading, but watching that flat piece of metal turn into a sculptural piece. I started taking metal clay classes which was just the beginnng.  Then I began to go out of state to take classes with Kathy Wilcox for enameling  and James Carter for fabrication. I really liked the move of metal between my fingers. I also discovered how I might incorporate my painting and drawing into this new art.

We are beginning to bring this work into the gallery for display and sale and classes.  We have had two wire working classes, making earrings and learning how to make chain.  Since Valentine’s is coming up I decided that the next class would be making a heart pendant on a wire chain.  We will be using copper, brass, or silver colored wire.  With just a few hand tools supplied by the gallery each person will be able to walk out with a heart necklace around their neck.  Check classes on the website for information.  You can even sign up on the site and pay through PayPal.
