Still working on this large 24×36 colored pencil. What a joy. So often with colored pencil it seems that every layer gives some sort of pleasure. Here I have worked several layers on the front of the gown and one layer on the white back with a cream layer coming in over it. In the end the whole dress will look creamy white with subtle shadowing, but for now I have to have these much stronger colors.
The sleeve of the blue shirt and the flowers (maybe) are done. This piece is really coming along quickly, I have only been working on it for three weeks. Final decisions about color and doneness can only be made when the background is in. Everything will look different then.
